Vostsibneftegaz Will Plant More Than 900 Thousand Forest Seedlings in 2024

06 November 2024

East Siberian Oil and Gas Company, which is part of Rosneft's oil and gas production complex, completed reforestation in Achinskoye and Karatuzskoye forestries in the Krasnoyarsk region. The oil workers planted 940 thousand seedlings of forest crops on 300 hectares. The forestry territories grew 820 thousand seedlings of Siberian spruce, 70 thousand seedlings of Siberian cedar pine and almost 50 thousand seedlings of common pine.

Preserving the environment for future generations is an integral part of the company's corporate culture and social policy. Rosneft runs a number of extensive environmental programmes and maintains a leading position in minimising its environmental footprint and making its operations environmentally friendly. The Company's approaches to forestry and reforestation are outlined in the public position "Preserving the planet for the benefit of present and future generations: sustainable forest management".

Last year Vostsibneftegaz planted about 500 thousand seedlings of Siberian spruce with open and closed root systems on the territory of Achinskoye forestry. More than one million pine trees were added to the Kodinsky forestry area destroyed by the fire in 2022. Oil workers presented Krasnoyarsk with a pine alley in honour of their 30th anniversary in May 2024.

Over the past three years, the company has planted 2.5 million forest seedlings as part of reforestation.

In addition to reforestation, the company replenishes aquatic bioresources, organises events to clear the city of spontaneous litter in recreation parks, and donates waste paper and batteries for recycling. For 10 years, environmental scientists have been studying the flora and fauna of Evenkia with Vostsibneftegaz grant support.
